Discover Scuba Diving

This is a great way to try scuba diving for the first time!

If you’ve never tried scuba diving before, or want to find out if you like scuba diving before starting the PADI certification course, then the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program is for you.

You will be introduced to the amazing underwater world of Aqaba which is home to some of the best coral reefs in the world.

We conduct the Discover Scuba Diving day trip all year round, as we are lucky to have a constant water temperature between 27 – 28 Degrees Celsius (80 -82 Fahrenheit) and fantastic underwater visibility.
There’s NO classroom work involved, NO swimming pool tests and definitely NO exams- your PADI Instructor will give you a short briefing on the boat on the way to the Aqaba dive sites and cover important safety aspects, how the equipment works and what to expect to see under the water during the day on the coral reefs. All you need to do is relax and have fun!

Here at Aqaba Pro Divers we make safety and fun for you our main priorities, so with the Discover Scuba Diving program the maximum group size will be four divers with one PADI instructor.

If you would like a more personal experience then we offer a Private Instructor option for the day – where it would be just yourself and one PADI instructor on all dives.

We come and collect you from your hotel lobby in the morning and retrun you back in the late afternoon – everything you will need for the day is provided. All you need to bring along is a towel and swimwear.

    • AED (automated external defibrillator) use
    • Preventing and caring for shock

Finally, your EFR Instructor will setup an example accident scenario so that you can put into practice everything that you’ve been taught today. This course is conducted in one of our air-conditioned classrooms at the dive centre- there are no swimming pool sessions or open water dives required for this certification.

    PADI Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver Course will build upon what you’ve already learned up to Advanced Open Water to expand your knowledge and experience teaching you to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers.

Although this course can be intense, it is a great way to build your confidence and helps you identify potential problems and gives you the know-how on how to handle them if they do.

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course.

    What ‘s Involved ?

    Day 1

You and your Instructor will start the Rescue Diver theory by watching a DVD and completing the Knowledge Reviews of your PADI Rescue Diver manual.

The five areas that you will cover are:

    • Self rescue
    • Recognising and managing stress in other divers
    • Emergency management and equipment
    • Rescuing panicked divers
    • Rescuing unresponsive divers

    Day 2

This morning, you will finish off any of the Rescue Diver theory and complete the multiple-choice Final Exam. Now you should be thinking like a Rescue Diver- that is someone who is aware of their diving surroundings and can make good judgement calls in emergency situations. With the help of your instructor, you will learn to read the signs in yourself and others of potential problems and learn the skills necessary to remediate.

Time to practice to those life-saving rescue skills. You, your Instructor and your classmates will take-on different roles (rescuer, assistant and victim) to make it as life-like as possible. You’ll be put through your paces now so that if you’re ever faced with a real rescue situation, you’ll be better prepared to deal with it. The day normally finishes around 5pm, but if you require more time to practice in the swimming pool or need some more time in the classroom then this is not a problem.

    Day 3

We come and collect you from your hotel lobby and transfer you by one of our air-conditioned mini buses to our day trip diving boat. Your PADI dive instructor will be waiting for you on the boat, and after a short briefing on the boat and the facilities on-board it is time for some breakfast which will be freshly prepared for you by the boat crew. Today’s diving will revolve around a number of rescue scenarios that your Instructor will setup. These will be as realistic as possible and are designed to increase your experience and confidence in these situations. Rescue Scenario 1 – Unresponsive Diver Underwater. Search for and locate a missing diver during an accident simulation.

Rescue Scenario 2 – Unresponsive Diver at the Surface. For this scenario, you must demonstate effectively responding to an unresponsive, nonbreathing diver on the surface during an accident simulation. After completion of the required skills there may be some time to have a fun dive, but don’t let your guard down- you’re a Rescue Diver now! Back onboard the boat, it’s time to fill in your log book and debrief you on the dives before celebrating your qualification as a PADI Rescue Diver with your instructor and fellow classmates.

    THE COURSES INCLUDES :

    • PADI Rescue Diver Manual
    • PADI certification costs
    • Full set of rental scuba diving equipment
    • PADI Instructor
    • Transfers from hotel to the dive sites

Has it been some time since you went diving last?

It does not matter which diving licence you hold as long as you are qualified to dive, we can refresh your diving skills.

The refresher is perfect for people who have not been diving for sometime and would like to refresh their skills before going on to the other full dive tours or live aboard trips.

    What ‘s Involved ?

Once the refresher is complete then the rest of the time is spent diving. The bonus being there are two dives so you get a second dive to practise all you went through on the refresher.

The beautiful and shallow bays of Read sea are known for both clear water and colorful coral formations. All dive sites at south beach are suitable for both scuba divers and snorkelers on holiday in Aqaba..  And you’ll be diving along sloping rocks that is covered with colourful hard corals and large schools of tropical fish. There is also a nice wreck there as well to explore.

    We go through:

    • Safety checks
    • Buddy system
    • Gauges – Air and depth
    • Emergency procedures
